How it happened
-
2017
Pune
The book fair
Ira was buying the last copy of Norwegian Wood. Kabir said it was overrated. She bought it anyway, then let him buy her a cutting chai to explain himself.
-

Hampi
The first trip
Six friends planned it; four cancelled. We climbed Matanga Hill for the sunrise, missed it by ten minutes and stayed for breakfast instead.
-
2021
Bandra
One bedroom, two desks
We moved to Mumbai and into a flat with a view of a neighbour's water tank. We still call it the sea view.

An indie puppy from a Khar shelter, who now chews books, shoes and, specifically, Murakami.
-
2025
Marine Drive
Six in the morning
Kabir proposed on the promenade at dawn, with a ring tucked inside a second-hand copy of Norwegian Wood. Ira said yes and that the book is still overrated.
